Nine of the finest Amateur pipers from across North America competed in an elite invitational contest with three events: 6/8 Marches, Piobaireachd and MSR.

The judges were Iain MacDonald from Regina, Saskatchewan, Nancy Tunnicliffe from Lanesboro, Massachusetts, and Bobby Minnear from Atlanta, Georgia.

Workshop on Gold and Silver Medal tunes for 2009, appropriate for judges and advanced pipers. Donald Lindsay, Bobby Minnear and Iain MacDonald conducted the class.
